Since the pandemic started, more and more fitness companies offer online classes and opportunities for people to download videos. While I think this is a very important new way of staying active and healthy, I feel like we are loosing the most important aspect of fitness - personal connection. It can be a quick and simple solution to just turn on the TV and watch the latest video of a "Core Class" or "High Intensity Session" and for sure, it is better than not doing anything at all. However, in my experience, a generic class will not give you what you need in the long run. You will not see specific results or improvement, because we all need different things and have different goals. This is where the personal connection matters most - having someone to talk to about your individual needs can be a game changer. Maybe you are low on energy this week and your regular exercise workout will put even more stress on your system or you injured yourself and need modifications. Talking to a trainer can give you exactly what you need, having someone to help guide you and share your fitness journey is the most valuable benefit you can get out of this. Fitness and health should always be approached holistically. Knowing what you go through right now can help create a better plan without running the risk of injury or burning out. Personal connection also means that we can step away from the typical 1 hour sessions, in fact, there are many ways of developing a great workout plan that fits every schedule. Let's sum it up: An App will not likely give you the most crucial part of working out - individuality! Personal connection with your trainer is what sets you apart from everyone else, what makes your journey unique and what will help you see that your success and well-being matters!
