New year, new start? You might be one of the people who fall into the same trap every year to think that January is the perfect time to start a healthier life. Maybe your goal is to join a gym, because the holidays, let’s say, left a mark. Maybe you want to eat healthier because you are always tired and grumpy. Maybe you just want to get out and be active again because you have spent too much time indoors. Having worked in the Fitness Industry for over a decade now, my experience shows that New Year’s Resolutions never last long and are rarely successful. Waiting until after the holidays only sets you up for failure. The pressure is higher, the damage is greater. What if you could avoid all of that ? Instead of cleaning up after the mess, how about avoiding the mess altogether? Implementing changes in your diet or fitness routine now, can prevent the vicious cycle. In addition, it can help get you through the holidays with ease and set you up for long - term success of sticking with your new habits. Here is the most important reasons why starting now is a much better choice: Making anything a habit takes time. In order to get long lasting results, you need to convert a small change (e.g eating more greens) into part of your life. It needs to become natural and easy to implement. It takes your body at least 30 days to get used to change and make it a habit. If you start buying and eating more greens now, it will slowly become a part of your regiment by the time the holidays come around. You will know where and when to buy them as part of your already existing weekly routine and how to prepare them efficiently. The best part is the fact that you got a head start, therefore, there’s no stress if you fall back into old habits or if you get overwhelmed and can’t find anything healthy at your christmas party. You can simply just continue trying to do your best. Once the dreaded holidays come around, you will have a solid foundation and are less likely to revert to your old self. By the time the new year rings in, you are already set up and in a much better place to start the year with ease. If you don’t know where and how to start, contact me for more info.
