Word Scramble

I recently went to a bit of a 'remote' place (all while properly social- distancing) and ran into a few issues when I had to teach my class:
  • I had only the great outdoors to teach out of
  • I had limited internet connection
  • I had limited data
  • I had limited battery life on my computer, phone etc.
  • It was raining... of course!
I knew that I would not be able to teach the full class in the rain with no cover for my computer, but I still wanted them to workout at the same time, like we usually would and make sure, it was interactive. So, I decided to play a game of 'Word Scramble' with my class participants. 
The day before, I sent out my intended exercise program to all of them. I made sure, they had done all of the exercises before at some point during my sessions, so they knew how to perform them correctly. I also included a short 3-minute instructional video I took a few days before, to go over all the exercises.
The workout had 5 sections to complete. We started at the same time as usual and each participant had to send me (via what's app or text message) a pic or short video of each completed section as 'prove' after each one. In exchange they would get letters. After completing all 5 sections, they then were able to form a 3-word phrase out of the random letters. In this case the answer was: I LOVE BOOTCAMP :) 
I liked it because I could interact with them despite limited resources and could give tips, hints etc, while they could compete against each other and still feel like they are in a session with everyone. It took about an hour to complete.

Here is my workout:
  • Warm up: cardio 20 of each- jumping jack, high knees, skaters, crossover crunch standing (letters: P,C)

  • Mobility: hamstring work - strap- explained in video (letters: V,E,O)

  • 4x10 reps (letters: L,M)
Single leg Deadlift 
Split squat 
Glute/ham hip lift 

  • 2x1 min (letters: O,O,A)
Bear crawl glute kick
​
Crossover crunch 
Single leg glute bridge
Leg drop

  • Cardio 3x40/20: (letters: I,B,T)
Burpee
Mt. climbers
Swimmers just legs

PHRASE: I LOVE BOOTCAMP
